The Hoskins Centre is also Armidale’s main theatre space and plays host to a number of community companies and professional touring productions and performances. We partner with the Armidale Dramatic and Musical Society (ADMS) to host their annual musical and play, and are also partnered with the Armidale Fine Arts Society (ADFAS) for their monthly lectures. Touring productions often come to do workshops or masterclasses as part of their visit to the centre and students are able to access a very diverse range of experiences in the Arts..
TAS has participated in the revived NSW Shakespeare Carnival for several years now, with students often invited to Sydney to perform at the Seymour Centre as part of the Finals showcase and some taking home the winning crowns in Drama, Music and Film! In Term 2 we host our own school Shakespeare Carnival and students compete to represent the school in the Regional Carnival that is regularly hosted at TAS. With a range of Drama performance categories, a Dance/Movement category, a Music composition category and a Design category it is an opportunity for students across the Arts to challenge themselves and participate in a statewide celebration of the Arts and Shakespeare
Junior School Drama Club
A Junior School Drama Group which runs for Years 3-5 and Years K-2 after school time with Ms Leasa Cleaver. This is a great option for Junior School students to get a feel for drama lessons and build up their school ahead of the Junior School Musical.
